Stephenson arrested for assaulting girlfriend

Indiana Pacers rookie guard Lance Stephenson was arrested for assaulting his girlfriend by pushing her down the stairs.

The pair got into an argument, at which time Stephenson shoved her down the steps, which resulted in stitches and a trip to the hospital for the woman.

There were character concerns about Stephenson during his high school days, which is one of the reasons he had such a hard time finding a college team interested in him.

This is certainly not a good start to his NBA career, as the guard does not have a guaranteed contract.

The Pacers are very image concious and could easily decide to just cut Stephenson loose because of this embarassing incident.
